This unique range of African handmade beads have been imported from Ghana through a small co-operative supporting local people. They are made from glass bottles which are broken down into powder glass and then re-fired in mud kilns (with no thermometers!) before being poured as liquid glass into mould to create the beads. Please note that whilst every effort is made to produce an accurately sized bead, there is a room for variety and they may slightly differ from the size shown which only adds to their unqiue attractiveness. The holes are large enough to be thread on 2mm cotton cord, leather or suede. They also work well with our Organza ribbons.
